Sea to Summit designs and builds gear that is meant to be put to the test, wherever your adventures take you. We guarantee our products against defects in materials or workmanship for the lifetime of the product.
The Sea to Summit Guarantee is our promise to guarantee our products against manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship for the lifetime of the product. We choose the highest quality materials, build to the most exacting manufacturing standards, and rigorously test our products so we can deliver on this promise.
We offer this lifetime warranty to the original owner, with proof of purchase from an authorised Sea to Summit reseller, for the intended life of the product under normal use. The only exception to the Sea to Summit Guarantee is for products which are intended for use in situations which result in higher rates of wear and tear, which is why they have a limited warranty duration. In these cases, the duration of the warranty is clearly marked on the packaging and on our website.
Our warranty policy provides you with benefits in addition to the rights you have at law, including under the Australian Consumer Law because your satisfaction is very important to us. If you encounter a manufacturing defect in materials or workmanship with any Product purchased through our website then subject to an assessment by us, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement product, exchange or refund of the purchase price.
You can also return an item purchased on this website for assessment if you believe it is defective, faulty or not fit for the purpose advertised.
The Sea to Summit Lifetime Guarantee does not cover damage caused by normal wear and tear, misuse, excessive use, accidental damage, alteration or modifications to the Product, combat damage, improper care or cleaning, neglect, non-standard usage, or negligence.
In addition, our warranty does not cover damage to personal items stored in or used in conjunction with our products. Warranty decisions are the discretion of the Warranty and Returns Department. Except in jurisdictions where the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damage is not allowed, then Sea to Summit will not, under any circumstances, be liable for any direct, indirect, special or consequential damages resulting from a warranty claim, and in no event will Sea to Summit’s aggregate liability exceed the price paid for the product.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
These are called “Consumer Guarantees” and cannot be excluded. Consumer Guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law are not limited by a defined time period and can vary from product to product depending on factors such as the nature of goods, price and statements made on packaging and product labels.
If you have a Product with a major problem (for example, it is unsafe, is significantly different from the sample or description), then you are entitled to a refund or replacement if the problem is a major problem. If it is a minor problem, then we can offer you a free repair within a reasonable time.
Where an item is damaged through misuse, neglect or abnormal use, we will not provide a refund, exchange or repair.

If the goods are repaired under the legal guarantee of conformity, the consumer benefits from a six-month extension of the original guarantee.
If the consumer asks for the goods to be repaired but the trader requires them to be replaced, the legal guarantee of conformity is extended for a period of two years from the date on which the goods are replaced.
The consumer may obtain a reduction in the purchase price by keeping the goods or rescind the contract by obtaining a full refund in exchange for the return of the goods if
The consumer shall also be entitled to a reduction in the price of the goods or to rescind the contract if the lack of conformity is so serious that it justifies an immediate reduction in the price or rescission of the contract. In such cases, the consumer is not obliged to request repair or replacement of the goods first.
The consumer shall not be entitled to rescind the contract if the lack of conformity is minor.
Any period of immobilization of the goods pending their repair or replacement shall suspend the guarantee which remained in force until the delivery of the repaired goods.
The aforementioned rights result from the application of articles L. 217-1 to L. 217-32 of the Consumer Code.
Any seller who obstructs the application of the legal guarantee of conformity in bad faith is liable to a civil fine of up to €300,000, which may be increased to 10% of the average annual turnover (Article L. 241-5 of the Consumer Code).
Consumers also benefit from the legal guarantee against hidden defects under Articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code, for a period of two years from the discovery of the defect.
